SH 018 1874 Angling. A large view of a couple fishing from a punt. However it is not clear what the man is fishing for as his female companion appears to be shrinking away from him. A nice scene - labelled "Good Sport" (see what we mean?) Gunston for the I.L.N.

SH 058 1893 Angling.  Chaotic scene of 3 urchins who have been involved in some sort of net fishing with two nets strung across a stream.  One of them has managed to collapse a net into the water with himself inside it! SH 054 1896 Angling. Fly, probably salmon, fishing in a fast running river, looks like Scottish Highlands. SH 067 1821 Coursing. Superb and perfect. From the collection of a deceased and fastidious antiquarian. This is open-field coursing with a magnificent display of a pair of greyhounds, the quarry, four mounted huntsmen, in pinks. Hand-coloured aquatint. This is too large for our scanner but we will scan a part of it on request. This is not a modern facsimile, the pronounced plate depression mark, raised image texture and type of paper authenticate it as original. Richard Jones engr. by Chas. Horse-racing - Vanity fair jockey. The famous G.A. Baird [who rode under the name of Mr. Abington]. He won the 1000 Guineas and the Oaks in 1884 and the Derby in 1887. 

This is the original print [not a reproduction] in an old oak frame and glazed.  As you will know, the subjects' names were not printed on the original Vanity Fair prints. Some age spotting and might profit from being taken out of the frame and cleaned a little but a fine example of this very rare and desirable print. We will send with it a copy of the original biographical text as issued. We will pack with all possible care but will not guarantee safe arrival of glass.

Horse-racing - Vanity fair jockey. The famous Tod Sloan.  He won the 1000 Guineas the year of this caricature.

This is the original print [not a reproduction] in an old oak frame and glazed.  As you will know, the subjects' names were not printed on the original Vanity Fair prints - just a nickname or alias. this has the name Tod Sloan inserted by a very fine hand. Particularly desirable as it was one of only two such prints showing a jockey actually riding. Some age spotting but a fine example of this very rare and desirable print.
