Home England & Counties Irish Maps Scottish Maps Welsh Maps London & Middx. Maps

The whole of London fell within the boundaries of the County of Middlesex until the late 18th century. Westminster was the other City that fell within Middlesex. Southwark, now very much a part of London, was usually classified as part of Surrey. Those complex reasons have caused us to put these various areas together under one map page. This will be of great help to family historians.

We are always ready to answer questions about the actual content of a map that we offer.

By the way we do use some codes to simplify descriptions in the table below. Mounted Coloured means it is Mounted and Coloured. Similarly Unmounted Coloured means that it Unmounted but Coloured. Americans can read "Matted" here for "Mounted". In all cases mounted items are backed, ready to frame.
